We ask you to dress seasonally and appropriately. In the summer, you should wear loose, comfortable, and breathable clothing. Socks are worn during chanting service, and you should always cover yourself to your knees and shoulders—no short shorts or tank tops, please, no matter how hot it is.
In winter, come prepared. It gets cold, especially in the dark hours before breakfast and after evening training. Please take precautions to keep your head and hands covered, and be sure to pack warm socks and a sweater or two. Warm base layers can be worn under the Sunmudo training pants and vest provided.
You should bring comfortable, closed-toe shoes (or, alternatively, secure sandals) that you can wear for walking and hiking.
Toiletries & Miscellaneous
Please bring your own toiletries and towel.
You may want to bring an umbrella if you are coming during the rainy season. If you bring your own water bottle, you can fill up on our fresh mountain spring water while you are here.
You will also need to bring an alarm clock. Handphones are fine to bring and there are outlets in your room if charging is needed.
Please note that we DO NOT provide towels. We DO provide blankets and pillows, and our accommodation is clean and modern. Our rooms are heated in the winter and are equipped with air conditioning in the summer months.
